Ballhockey.com Ratings
Terms of Use
How ballhockeyratings.com may be used, what it is and isn't responsible for, and what appeals cover.
Last updated November 1, 2026
In short: these ratings are made by Ballhockey.com for Ballhockey.com events. Other leagues and organizers are welcome to use them, but they run their own events, and Ballhockey.com isn't involved in their decisions. We only review appeals for players and teams playing, or planning to play, in Ballhockey.com events. Ratings are a guide, can change at any time, and are provided as is.
Who runs this site
ballhockeyratings.com is run by Ballhockey.com (St. Catharines, Ontario) to rate players and check division eligibility for Ballhockey.com tournaments. By using the site, you agree to these terms. Questions go to curtis@ballhockey.com.
What the ratings are
- Ratings come from the rosters and results of the qualifying events listed on the About page, using the rules shown there. League, recreational and other unlisted play doesn't count.
- They're a guide to playing level for tournament eligibility, not a judgement of anyone's character or ability outside that purpose.
- Ratings change: at each scheduled update, when events expire, and when an appeal is decided. A rating you saw last week may not be the rating today.
- For Ballhockey.com tournaments, the rating that applies is the one in this database when rosters are checked, under that tournament's own rules and restrictions.
Use by other leagues and organizers
We know other leagues, tournaments and organizers use these ratings, and that's fine with us. If you do:
- You run your own event. Ballhockey.com isn't in charge of, and isn't responsible for, your event's operations: your rules, rating limits, eligibility decisions, registration, refunds, scheduling, discipline or disputes.
- Your decisions are yours. If you use these ratings to make a decision about a player or team, that decision is made by you, not by Ballhockey.com.
- Check close to your event. Ratings change, so look up players near your roster deadline, and tell your teams which date you'll check on.
- Say where they come from. Credit "Ballhockey.com Ratings" and link to ballhockeyratings.com. Don't present them as your own ratings, change them while presenting them as ours, or suggest Ballhockey.com endorses, sanctions or runs your event.
- Don't reuse player photos. Player photos are shared with us for this site only.
Using the ratings doesn't create any partnership, sanction or agreement with Ballhockey.com.
Who can appeal
We only review appeals for players and teams who are playing, or planning to play, in a Ballhockey.com event (a Ballhockey.com tournament or league).
We don't review appeals for players or teams who want a rating looked at for an event run by another league or organizer, even though that event may use these ratings. That includes the organizer's eligibility decisions, the rating limits they set, and how they read or apply these ratings. Please contact that organizer directly.
The appeal form asks which Ballhockey.com event the appeal is for. Appeals that aren't for a Ballhockey.com event, or that turn out to be for an outside event, may be closed without a review.
What an appeal can change
An appeal asks the ratings staff to correct this database, for example if you didn't play in an event, a rating was entered wrong, two different people share a name, or a name is misspelled. Open the player's profile and choose Appeal this rating. Staff decide each appeal under the rules on the About page, and their decision is final for Ballhockey.com events.
If we fix an error in the database, the corrected rating shows here for everyone. Whether another organizer changes a decision because of it is up to them.
Using the site
- Look things up, share links to players and teams, and take screenshots for your own team or event: that's what it's for.
- Don't copy or download the database in bulk with automated tools, put heavy load on the site, try to get into the staff area, or resell the ratings.
- Don't use the site to harass, embarrass or target players. Send honest appeals and feedback. Knowingly false information may be ignored.
Accuracy and responsibility
We work hard to keep the ratings correct, but they're based on rosters and results that can contain mistakes. The site and the ratings are provided "as is", without guarantees that they're complete, accurate or up to date, or that the site will always be available. To the fullest extent the law allows, Ballhockey.com isn't responsible for losses or decisions that come from using the ratings, including decisions made by other leagues or organizers.
Names and logos
"Ballhockey.com", the Ballhockey.com Ratings logo, and tournament names such as Clash of the Titans belong to Ballhockey.com. Knapper and its logo belong to Knapper. Please don't use them in a way that suggests a partnership that doesn't exist.
